College Males: I’m So Talented Behind The Wheel, Texting While Driving Is Okay
One would think that all of the publicity surrounding the dangers of texting while driving, and distracted driving, would change attitudes about it. The fact that texting while driving is illegal in over 30 states (including here in Florida), should also warn people about how dangerous it is.
Unfortunately, a new study published by researchers at Kings College in Pennsylvania suggests that young male drivers still aren’t getting the message.
Distracted driving is still a huge problem in Florida. Just a few days ago our local media reported that the mother of one of two men killed when a texting driver ran into two men fishing on the Eau Gallie Bridge in Brevard County, is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the texting driver.
Attitudes and education about these dangers obviously need to change. As parents, we all need to do a better job of stressing that texting while driving simply is not permitted – period.
